Background 

 The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is offering an opportunity for 100% paid tuition for 20 individuals for each class offered via the EMS Readiness Program. The program is developed to grow EMS individuals in the rural areas in the State of Indiana. The School of EMS has been selected to provide this training in the State of Indiana. The training dates and locations are listed below.  

EMT Offering:
    • July 29, 2024, In Jasper County in conjunction with Jasper County EMS.
    • July 29, 2024, in Orange County in conjunction with Springs Valley Fire Department.
Paramedic
    • TBD
Who is eligible?
Jasper County EMT Class:  The EMS Readiness Program may give preference to students from the following counties:  Jasper County, Newton County, Pulaski County, and White County.
 
Orange County EMT Class:  The EMS Readiness Program may give preference to students from the following counties:  Orange County, Martin County, Davies County, and Lawrence County.
What fees are covered?
The EMS Readiness program will cover all tuition, books, and initial fees associated with the initial education of the student.  The tuition will also cover fees associated with first attempt NREMT examinations.
