Meet Dr. Adrian Johnson
Dr. Adrian Johnson, MD, FACEP, serves as our EMS Program Director. A retired District Chief from Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department with 30+ years of service, Dr. Johnson brings deep field experience and academic leadership to every aspect of our programs. He earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (University of North Florida, 2015), an MBA (Jacksonville University, 2001), a BS (Jacksonville University, 1999), and an Associate's in EMS Management (Florida Community College at Jacksonville, 1996). His focus is elevating clinical excellence, expanding program offerings (including Fire Officer and critical care training), and ensuring your education is relevant, rigorous, and patient-centered.Dr. Johnson is also recognized within the School of EMS community for his service-driven approach and veteran leadership - contributing to a learning environment where integrity, resilience, and teamwork thrive. EMT to Paramedic in Florida
Our EMT program is designed to build essential patient care skills through lecture, lab, and supervised clinical experiences. Camsen’s EMT curriculum is 300 clock hours (typically including classroom/lab plus ER and ambulance externships), preparing you to sit for the NREMT exam and qualify for Florida EMT certification.
For those pursuing advanced practice, Florida paramedic programs typically follow the National EMS Education Standards and culminate in NREMT testing and Florida licensure.
