School of EMS takes pride in working with individuals, EMS agencies, Fire Departments and other industry employers to create payment models that are fair and reasonable. We have several options available to meet your needs.
Registered Apprenticeship Program
The Paramedic Apprenticeship Program is a combination of PAID On-the-Job Training (OJT), online or classroom education, and clinical training. Tuition costs are supported by financial aid. Wages are paid for the OJT and clinical hours making this an “Earn as you Learn” program. Wages increase throughout the program as skills are obtained.
The School of EMS sets up work/study employment arrangements with EMS employers for students in mutually agreed upon locations. These employers have typically provide regular employment upon completion of the program. Students already working with an EMS company, fire department or hospital may be able to complete their work/study with their current employer.
Apprentices may receive financial aid that is not available to non-apprenticeship students.
The School of EMS’ Paramedic Registered Apprenticeship Program offers tuition assistance to include:
- Everyone (based upon eligibility)
- Individual Training Accounts (ITAs) – Funds that have been specifically allocated to assist individuals in paying tuition of an apprenticeship program. Amount determined based upon individual needs
- Grants – Availability is continually changing. Compass Military Services researches appropriate sources for you.
GI-Bill – Eligible veterans receive monthly stipends while in apprenticeship program. Stipends are equal to Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA). Also receive financial aid for books, supplies, and certification testing.
Individual Training Accounts (ITAs) – Funds that have been specifically allocated to assist individuals in paying tuition of an apprenticeship program. Amount determined based upon individual needs. Veterans are eligible as displaced workers.
Vocational Rehabilitation Funding – Based upon disability rating. * ITA eligibility (any may be applicable)
